Dear Tomi Lahren,

As a young “liberal snowflake” seeking a career in politics, I just wanted to say that I admire you. I find it quite difficult to sit through one of your “Final Thoughts” videos without my blood boiling, but I still, in fact, look up to you.

While my views tend to align more with the Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Elizabeth Warrens of the world, they’re like three times my age. You are a strong millennial voice, to be specific a voice for conservative millennials, but never the less a millennial voice.

You are an educated young woman with developed opinions and stand strong in your beliefs. There are few things that stand more admirable that that.

“I wish that we could disagree with each other without thinking that we are ill-intentioned or bad people.”

You have never shied away from speaking your mind and I have never heard you call someone with an opposing view wrong. We should be able to converse about our opinions, politics were never meant to be this divisive.This is something our country needs a lot more of. You hold people in our government accountable, the media, and our society as a whole. While, I never seem to agree with what it is you are calling them out for, you never the less are holding them accountable when they fail to meet your standards.

Thank you for calling people out on their sh*t even if I don’t agree with it.

You frequently speak out about female empowerment and identify with the struggles that come with being a woman. You are real, you don’t sugar coat things, life in the spot light is hard and you seem to handle it well.

Thank you for being unfiltered, your unfiltered-ness has made me mutter obscene words on multiple occasions but you never shy away from being your true self and that is something to look up to.

And while I know that you have said on multiple occasions that “I’m a millennial and I don’t like labels,” I am going to go ahead and label you as a feminist whether you like it or not, because by true definition that is what you are. You have built your career from the ground up, you’re a strong and independent young woman. You’ve battled through the stereo types that have been placed upon you and have over come them.

People often rail on you for being angry all the time but I think people often mistake anger for passion. You are a passionate individual, we are passionate about the same things, it just so happens that our views fall on opposite sides of the political spectrum.

While the only thing we could probably be able to find common ground on is being pro-choice, I would love to know what made you into the person you are today. I relate to you on more levels than I’d ever like to admit and disagree with you on even more, but if you’d ever like meet up and have a genuine conversation about politics over some chips and queso, let me know.
