Hey there,

If you find yourself reading this, you must be feeling lost or you must think you've lost your true purpose in life again. You've come to the right place because I got you, girl.

First of all, you need to breathe. Inhale. Exhale. Now do this a few more times. Do you feel better and calmer? Alright, so let's talk.

I know you feel defeated at this moment. You're disappointed in yourself for failing to meet the goals you were so determined to achieve. But, hey, it's OK. No need to be hard on yourself. You know this isn't the end of the world. There's still time for you to get back up and try again. Who said you only get one chance in everything?

Hold that chin up, sis.

You're more than what you make yourself out to be. You're smarter than those low grades you get after studying hours on end. You're kinder than the assumptions and comments people say about you. You're stronger than the bad days that make you want to give up. You don't give yourself enough credit for everything because you're way more busy pinpointing your flaws and punishing yourself for them.

I'm always rooting for you no matter what. I know what you're capable of doing, and I know how much you can accomplish when you have confidence and motivation. You can be unstoppable, but the problem is that you're always getting in your own way. No one is holding you back except for you. I need you to get out of that cycle. I need you to push through harder. I need you to be better for yourself.

I want to see the best version of yourself yet.

Being your number one supporter, it makes me happy when I watch you flourish and succeed. I get that it's stressful to go through the process of accomplishing what you want. The stress usually gets the best of you and bring out the worst in you. But, you know how you can cope with all the pressure and anxiety you feel. The very first step is to stop being your own mortal enemy and then, it's uphill from there.

You know how you're so loving and understanding to others? You need to be for yourself as well. Love yourself on your worst days as much as you do on your best days. Be understanding rather than being frustrated with yourself during hard times.

Whatever it is you're going through right now, you got this. You can do it. Have faith in yourself. Good things will happen. It's not always going to be dark skies. When you're convinced you're having the worst day you could ever have, take a step back and remind yourself that the best is yet to come.

Everything is going to be OK and you will get past this.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
