Dear Dr. Professor Mister Very Nice Lady,
We, as college students around the world, are asking you to please take that group project off your syllabus. We are actually on our knees begging. As much as we love making new friends and suiting everyone’s hectic time schedules, we are really just a bunch of introverted kids who want to do our own work. But really… One bad apple can ruin our incredible (barely passing) GPA’s, so please consider our plea. To sway you, let us tell you the struggles we face…
That one guy… No, really. We need you to turn on your smart switch for a bit. Please.
Then, there’s always the ‘busy’ one. You’re not hiding anything, hun. Going on dates and taking naps does not count as being busy.
Somehow, every group project gets stuck with a know-it-all,
and you’re just like…Yea, I learned that in kindergarten, now please don’t speak.
You feel so bad for those people who actually do try, but still just can’t get it. So, you change everything they've done and hope they don't notice.
The worst: that one kid who just doesn’t care. YOU. NEED. TO. CARE. THIS IS MY GRADE YOU’RE MESSING WITH.
The one kid who never actually does anything but still criticizes your perfectly formatted 25-page slide show.
Next to worst: The Excuse Guy. The ‘my roommate’s girlfriend’s brother’s cat’s cousin just died, and yeah, I need to be there for them.’ No. NO!
It’s the night before your presentation. You’re the only one actually working on your project (let’s not forget to mention it’s 50% of your grade) and you’re just like…
You finally get to presentation day, and frat boy forgot to practice his one AND only line. I mean, come on dude. You had one job. One job.
Afterwards, you hope and pray you don’t see these people for… well, a good long while because you #CantEven anymore.
Group projects are making us question our sanity, Dr. Professor Mister Very Nice Lady. We promise to submit our very best top notch work if you just help us to #StopGroupProjects2k15
Sincerely, Best, Warmest wishes,
Also, have a nice summer.
Students from every university and college around the globe.
