Here's to Phi Kappa Tau, Beta Gamma Chapter for changing my life.
Dear Phi Kappa Tau,
I never thought I would find a group of bros who I could be so close and feel so at home with, in such a short time. College was a bit intimidating and you not only made it go by like a breeze, but made me cherish every second of my undergraduate experience.
Thank you for a brotherhood where honesty is valued and people own up to their mistakes. I'm lucky, I guess, because I found a group of brothers focused on freedom and independence, yet always working to grow together. Thank you for helping me to grow. I owe it all to you, Phi Tau.
I entered as a boy and you helped me grow into a man, a gentleman. Thank you for providing me with a group of guys who teach me what it is to be a man. From the day I signed my bid to the epic-ness of our ritual, I am so thankful for our brotherhood.
Thank you for picking the Harvard Red, and making me feel almost Ivy league.
Thank you for picking the Serious Fun Children's Network as our national philanthropy. For focusing on giving back and making me a part of a philanthropy and organization that changes children's lives.
Thank you for giving me the confidence to reach for the stars. Thank you for teaching me that I can learn and achieve anything. Thank you for believing in me, and helping to show me not to always take the easy road in life.
Thank you for my Greek family. Thank you for giving me a big bro who puts up with my crazy antics, and is the best big bro I could ask for. Thank you for my two littles who have taught me (some) patience, and could never make me any prouder than I am of them every single second of every day.
Thank you for allowing me to document my experience, and make the majority of my Instagram and Facebook Phi Tau related.
Thank you for allowing me to start a legacy. For starting as an anti-hazing organization, Phrenecon, and becoming so much more to me than just any old fraternity. Thank you Taylor A. Borrdaile, Clinton D. Boyd, Dwight I. Douglass, and William H. Shideler.
Mostly, thank you for the road trips, nights out, and even those chapters that went excrutiatingly long. Thank you for showing me what true brotherhood feels like and giving me a second family and home.
Thank you for conferring me with a mark of distinction in which I take just pride. Thank you for helping me to believe in the spirit of brotherhood for which it stands. I shall strive to attain our ideals, and by so doing to bring to it honor and credit.
In Phi brothers,
Alex
