Dear Mommy,
I don't know how you do it. How you manage a household, a job, and a family. To say I admire you is an understatement. I want to say thank you for everything that you have done.
Thank you for putting up with me as a colicky infant.
Thank you for putting band aids on my scraped knees.
Thank you for taking me to the hospital all those times I broke bones doing stupid things as a kid.
Thank you for getting up at 5AM to start getting me ready for dance competitions.
Thank you for driving me to dance class multiple times a week and sitting outside the studio for hours on end, waiting for those never ending classes to come to a close
Thank you for waking up at 4:30 a.m. to make sure I made my train in the mornings for high school.
Thank you for dealing with my unruly hair for twenty one years.
Thank you for teaching me that being a woman is more than just having a family, it is having a career and being proud of yourself.
Thank you for trusting me when I went off to college almost three years ago.
Thank you for saving my spring break trip with my friends.
Thank you for supporting me, no matter what it is I decide to do.
Thank you for catching me every time I fall.
Thank you for holding me when I cry and putting up with my incessant texting.
But most of all, thank you for being you.
Mom, I don't think you will ever understand how much you truly mean to me. You're more than just the woman that gave birth to me, you are my peer, my editor, my hairdresser, my confidant, my concert buddy, my best friend.
Thank you doesn't even begin to cover what you have done for our family over the last twenty one years, but I hope you realize how thankful and blessed I am to be able to call you my mommy.
Love you to the moon and back.
