Dear Junior Year,
Please be amazing. Wow, look at the time! It seems like just yesterday we were saying goodbye to home to move into a strange place that would soon become home for the first time. Already, round three is upon us and will be filled with its own year long adventure. I know that this new year and each semester, in itself will bring many things, both good and bad. One moment we'll be having the time of my lives only counting down the minutes to come crashing down to a boat load of work that we lost track of time on. But junior year, please make it all worth it.
May the laughs be endless and the all-nighters be leveled by unforgettable nights out. As we get further into the semester and we find ourselves staying up later and later to complete assignments that seem to have no end, let us remember that hard work pays off. Help us to believe that we are not the only one on word 695 of a 2,000 word paper at 10:00 the night before it is due. When we feel overwhelmed, let us know that it is all going to be fine and that even though it's Monday, the weekend is only four days away.
Let the year be full of new friendships and relationships. As we all try to figure out just how to do this thing called life, let this year's journey be a fun one. Bring on the memories that will be remembered for years to come and bring smiles to our faces whenever they cross our minds. Send new faces to help disrupt the stress that we are all under to unwind and enjoy the simple and good things in life. The year may bring the ending of old faces but we are all still growing and sometimes growing apart is okay. Through it all, let the cheers be never ending, the arguments be short lived, and each day bring us closer to those amazing people.
Send us amazing professors who make us excited to get up for that 8 am. Okay, I may be pushing it because let's face it... no one is EVER excited for those, but make it a little more bearable. Let them be understanding and stand by an open door policy ready and free to talk whenever.
We know you won't let us down because each year thus far has been even more amazing than the last. Send us laughs that are so hard our stomachs hurt, tears that are quickly wiped away by friends, and a little sprinkle of surprise our way. So as we load up the cars and get settled in once again, be ready for us because we are more than ready for you. Year three, please be good to us because we will undoubtedly be good to you.
