Dear Mr. Webster,
Everyone should have the opportunity to meet their hero. I had the opportunity to do this on April 21, 2016. This is the day I got to meet you. You, Mr. Webster, have been my hero since the day I heard "Starry Eyed." I was in such a low point in my life, and your music gave me a reason to push myself and do something with my life. You are a superhuman.
Let me tell you how I was able to come to your show in Amityville, New York this year. After four years of learning your lyrics, I found out you were going to be performing only a half hour from my college. I introduced your music to one of my sorority sisters, and she fell in love. We bought the tickets and were on our way. We impatiently waited for you to jump on stage with your Casey Jones mask and bottle of Jameson. Your performance was breathtaking. I lost my voice from rapping along with you! We even got to meet another amazingly talented rapper prior to meeting you (shout out to Danny Evans, you are awesome). When Danny brought us backstage to meet you, I was in awe. I have never "fan-girled" over an artist before. It felt weird.
Regardless, meeting you was amazing. I mean, I finally got to tell you that you were the reason I applied to Hofstra. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and well, you know the rest of the story. I heard you say "I wanna thank Hofstra for kicking me out," and immediately I Google searched Hofstra. I never thought that I would get accepted, or would be able to afford it. When I got accepted with a scholarship, I cried. This was one of the most memorable moments of my life. When I was able to tell you this story, I was so thankful that you were real and personable enough to listen to a fan. Thank you.
Your music and attitude on life have both inspired me to want to leave a mark on this planet. People are much to quick to destroy others, themselves, and the planet. Yes, you rap about drugs and alcohol, but you also send the message that no matter how tough life gets, you can do almost anything to be on top. Your parents should be proud, they raised one hell of a son.
I'd like to end my letter to you with a line to my favorite song of yours:
The past is the past though you got some good memories,
People turn they back and all you gotta do is let it be.
Again, thank you for speaking for those who can't.
Love and respect,
Gabriella Novello
