Dear Graduation,
As the school year comes to an end, I am anxiously waiting your arrival. As of now, there are exactly 77 days, 11 hours, 8 minutes, and 30 seconds until we meet. The feeling of knowing that you are around the corner is bitter sweet, scary, and much anticipated.
I am so used to saying “When I grow up, I wanna…” Now it feels a little weird to not say that anymore, because I am already “up there.” I am anxious to know of what is in store for me after school ends. I plan on doing so much; starting a marketing career, traveling, going to graduate school, and much more.
College has been filled with so many joyful memories, tough times, and unforgettable moments. I have learned so many valuable lessons in and out of the classroom. This may sound a little cliché, but you really do learn a lot in college. You learn a lot about relationships between close friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, and other colleagues. Growing up, I have always been told; “when someone shows you who they are, believe them.” Meaning, if someone shows you their true colors, don’t brush it off, believe what you are seeing. This is a quote that has stuck with me throughout college and will stick with me throughout my life. As this is the truth!
From the homework and course load, to the all-nighters that have been pulled, I am happy to start this new chapter of my life after the end of the graduation ceremony. College has been filled with many ups and downs, but I will be sure to carry with me everything that I have learned from Hampton University.
Thank You,
Serena Alleyne
