Dear Grace College,
I’m writing this not to be rude, but because it is an issue. It may be small, but something does need to be done about this. I can’t even tell you how many people have complained about this, including me. Washer and dryers need to be free here.
It’s ridiculous that I have to pay $1.25 for every load I do (I heard it was a $1 last year) especially when the washer doesn’t work that well. They are small and you cannot put that much stuff in there at all compared to the dryers that can fit like three loads in. Sometimes when I wash stuff it doesn’t even clean the clothes all the way and they don’t always smell clean. I have to spray all my clothes, put at least two tide pods in, use softener, and use scent booster stuff just so my clothes will smell fresh.
Please, please, please consider giving us free laundry. I don’t even have enough money half the time to pay for my laundry when I need to do it. I use so much money that I shouldn’t even be using to pay for it. I can’t even afford to pay for school. Besides scholarships, all my school is being paid for in loans. Instead of saving money up, I have to spend a lot of that money doing laundry. It’s just not fair to me or anyone else. Especially since people are paying so much for tuition here, it would be fair to not make us pay for laundry as well.
Some students on average have to spend $12 or more per week on laundry. That is a lot of money being wasted, but doing laundry is a necessity. I know of a lot of colleges that have free laundry. Do you know how nice that would be? We’re college students, we’re broke. And if you’re like me, a lot of students can’t afford to pay for their laundry. I have to have my parents send me money in the mail for laundry just because I haven’t gotten paid for working here yet. And I have to do laundry all the time because I don’t have a lot of clothes. So please think about it.
Just please give us free laundry. This isn’t a thing to be rude, but it should be happening. Especially since our washers and dryers do not work a lot here or they don’t work that well. I hate that I have to pay so much money for it. So many colleges have free laundry now and I believe that is something that Grace should offer. I bet it would attract even more people to this college if you did because I hear a lot of people are actually looking for a college that has free laundry. Just keep it in mind please.
