Dear Future Self,
Well for starters, I hope you have a job. Not just a job that pays the bills, but one that you actually love. A job that makes it seem like you don't even have to work because you enjoy it so much. I hope it allows you to use your strengths and passions to their fullest and that you find joy in it all.
I hope you look back at this article and remember the amazing memories you made during your time at Texas Tech. The incredible friendships you formed and all those football games where you almost passed out of heat stroke, or you almost ended up with frostbite (like the time where you didn't take a jacket because it was 80 degrees but by the end it was freezing and raining and cold)
Tech wasn't necessarily your first choice, and you struggled quite a bit first year, but you've found a way to make it your home and now you couldn't be happier. Wreck 'em forever.
You better still be calling mom and dad, too. Duh.
There better be lots of dogs and lots of queso in your life. Dogs are better than people, but I hope you find someone to stand by your side through it all and love you as much as you love dogs (and queso). If they love you any less, then it's not worth it.
But on a serious note, I hope you're happy. I hope you have a family and a husband that love you unconditionally who is there at your highest of highs and your lowest of lows. I hope they love you for you and that you don't change for anyone. Stand strong in your faith and don't let anyone become the reason for your happiness. Find ways to create happiness on your own, and allow others to be a part of it, but don't rely on others for happiness. It'll only hurt you in the end.
And finally, remember who you are, and Whose you are.
