Dear Dad,
I want to thank you for being my hero, my motivator, and the best dad in the world. When I was little, you were the one who fixed my night light when the lightbulb burned out, the one who fixed my favorite doll when her head fell off, and the one who helped me with my homework late at night. You were always there for me, and never let me down. I was your favorite little girl in the whole wide world, and you were my best friend.
As I got older, I acquired the basic traits of a teenager. I only wanted to hang out with my friends, I had an attitude all the time, and I was starting to mold into a young woman. While you were always pressing me to do my homework, I thought you were just being annoying. While you nagged me every time we practiced driving, I thought you were the most frustrating human being on the planet. While you wanted to meet every one of my friends and their parents, I thought you were crazy. However, now that I am older and wiser, I realize how much you have taught me.
You were the one who motivated me to keep my grades up and stay on the honor role. You were the one who helped me get my license and my first car. You were the one who made sure that I hung out with the right people, who later would become some of my best friends. Most importantly, though, you were the one who taught me how to be a strong, independent woman. The kind of woman who works hard for what she wants, and who will one day make a huge difference in our classrooms.
Dad, thank you so much for everything you do. You work hard to take care of our family, and you are always there when I need you. You have been my biggest supporter, and will always be my best friend. I hope that I can one day repay you for everything that you have done for me. I may be an adult now, but I will always be your little girl.
