Dear cancer,

You're back again. You were gone and we hoped to never see you again in the life of my best friend. You are so unwelcome, but you don't care. We hate you, but you don't care. You never have and you never will. We hoped that you would never darken the door of her life ever again. But yet here you are. You are trying your hardest to bring negativity into her life. But the truth is you're failing. You're doing the exact opposite.

You are trying to diminish her faith, but you're making it stronger.

You are trying to break her spirit, but there's a spirit inside of her that cannot be broken.

You are trying to destroy her hope, but she has a hope in a God much greater than you.

You are trying to keep a child of God from working in His kingdom, but you're making her testimony stronger.

You are trying to bring constant trials in her life, but God has already made her more than a conqueror.

You are trying to steal her joy, but this testing of her faith produces perseverance.

You are trying to disrupt her future, but she has given her future to a God that has a plan for her.

You are trying shake her foundations, but she has so many walls of prayer surrounding her.

You are trying to remove her strength, but she is strong in the Lord.

You are trying to bring doubt into her mind, but her trust is in the Lord, not in herself.

You are trying to plant fear in her mind, but she will not fear for she knows who has control.

You are trying to take her peace, but her peace is a peace that passes all understanding.

You are trying to make a home in a body, that is already housing the Holy Spirit.

Try as you may, you're fighting a battle that isn't yours to win. You will never win. She is a child of God and because of that you can never defeat her. Try as you may, her light shines brighter than ever and I know it will continue to. You're still not welcome here and I believe will all my heart that you won't be staying long.

-The Best Friend of a Warrior

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
