Dear Ball State Dorms,

I will miss you. I know, I can't believe I am saying that either. You were crowded and smelly and had terrible selfie lighting. I had to share bathrooms with other girls who left pubic hair and vomit by the drain. There were tampons left in toilets and stinky, month old food in the sink. The walls were either so easily damaged and cost to repair or looked like prison but were as tough as nails. The infestation of lady bugs and stink bugs did not add to the ambiance. The truth is though, I had a lot of fun at the end of the day while also learning a few things.

I lived in two different dorms going from the worst dorm to one of the newest dorms and then back to the worst due to the charm. I had three roommates, all of which taught me something that I will carry on in life. One of them may even end up a maid of honor if the poor sucker who I am supposed to marry actually finds me. I loved the late nights playing pool and ping pong with the guys from the third floor and girls from mine. I loved living at the theater kids house this past semester because of how done I was with the dorms. I loved decorating each room, making it my own.

The best part was because of the dorms, I found my people. The people I get to call my squad or my family, the people I had bonfires with the entire finals week. Every single night of finals week. We had water balloon fights to, those helped with the stress. I grew and matured and changed and learned due to the dorms. I met people that impacted me greatly for better and for worse. I owe so much to the dorms and honestly I would not take back a second of it.

Thank you, Ball State dorms for a hell of a time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
