Everybody has a hard time in college. School work, jobs, and dealing with not having money are struggles every college students knows. Sometimes though, it is harder for others. Not only do they deal with the struggles that every college student faces, they are also dealing with things like constantly feeling alone, thoughts of suicide, and much more. This is to them.

I know what it is like to all always be tired. Not the normal college tired, but the physically, mentally, emotionally tired. The tired where you physically can not get out of bed because you can not face the day. I know how it feels to honestly want it all to end. To really think about the best way to end it, and to be driving down the road and think it would be easiest to crash. I understand that every single day feels like the hardest day of your life and it will never get better. I know you cry yourself to sleep every night.

It is hard for college students to express the real way they feel because people always chalk it up to the fact that you are in college.

"Everyone in college is tired."

"Everyone in college is having a hard time."

"Everyone in college is feeling pressure."

But sometimes it is more than that. It is not always so simple to explain, but trust me it gets better.

It gets better when you talk to someone. It doesn't have to be your friends, family or even someone you know. Find a counselor at your school, every university has one. Someone that knows nothing about you, and you can vent to them. They will understand, and not just say that every college student feels the same. I met a life long friend who will always be there for through my counselor.

It gets better when you write your feelings down. If you look in the notes on my phone, you'll see every sad thought I've ever had. When I write things down, I picture them going out of my mind and on to the phone or paper. It is relaxing to get those things out of your mind.

It gets better when you do things that mean something to you. Spend time with family and friends, volunteer with dogs, or become a big brother or sister. When you start to do things you love, you wont worry about yourself so much. You'll start to have fun and be happy.

It's not going to get better right away, and it won't be perfect from here on out. There will be times when you feel those walls start to close in again but you'll get through it. Never fake a smile. If you are feeling terrible, do something that will actually make you happy. You will feel so much better about yourself. Know that if you ever feel alone, you aren't. There are people that do not even know you that want to help you. You do matter.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
