Deal-breakers. There are just some actions—no matter how big or small—that are just complete turn-offs. Whether they are a friend or a boyfriend or girlfriend, if they cross these lines…there is no going back. These deal-breakers lead to nothing but rage and utter disappointment.

1. Being mean to servers and/or not tipping well.

As someone who works in customer service, it is very annoying and disappointing to have customers who are rude and angry, and they take it out on you. For some reason, our society has dehumanized the people who work for us. For this reason, if someone is rude to a waitress or employee, there is no going back. They’re cut off. Boy bye.

2. Spitting

Ew. Just ew. Sorry, I don’t want to see the wet mucus leaving your body. Nor to I want to accidentally step in it. Especially if you are spitting out gum for someone to unwittingly step in and ruin their shoe. It’s inconsiderate. What’s wrong with just swallowing the spit?

3. Littering

Call me a tree-hugger, but littering is another inconsiderate act. Not only are you endangering the environment, someone else will have to pick that trash up. Can you not hold onto it until you find a trash can or get home? Now you’re rude and lazy. Just pick up after yourself—it’s so easy.

4. One uppers/downers

You know those people who always have to one-up you or one down you. Those people who when you say something like “Wow, I just bought these new shoes,” and they respond with something annoying such as “Yeah, well I just bought thirty pairs of shoes, aha!” They just have to have it better than anyone else.

There are also the people who have to have it worse off; they want people to feel bad for them. If you mention you are tired, they have to mention how much more tired they are than you. Chill guys, it isn’t a competition. We can all just take a nap.

5. Always right

Everyone knows someone like this. They have to have the last word, and even if they’re wrong—they’re right. It’s infuriating, and you just can’t reason with them. (As someone who is always right, I know I can’t handle another person with this mentality). In the end, you just have to agree or shut up, because they will never give up.

6. The “you owe me” people.

These are the people who keep some sort of tab on just how much money you owe them. For example, Um, yeah, I bought you a packet of skittles four months ago, and you owe me exactly $2.35.”

7. Chewing with your mouth open.

Lastly, loud chewing. When I encounter someone who chews with their mouth open, I want to scream, break windows, escape. Even if I’m just across the room and I see someone chewing with their mouth open, the amount of pure rage that fills my being cannot be described. People who chew with their mouth open should be banned from every restaurant until they learn how to eat correctly

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
