The opening sequence of Deadpool had the audience cracking up in less than 30 seconds, which is the first time I've witnessed and heard something like that in a movie in a long time. Not only was the audience cracking up but the movie theater was packed. Thankfully, they ID-ed my girlfriend and I because this was not a movie for children (despite it being a marvel/superhero movie). The amount of raunchy jokes along with one-liners, action and romance made this movie so hard to categorize as just being action or adventure or a dark comedy. Wade Wilson, who is the alias of Deadpool, is played by the good-looking Ryan Reynolds, who surely will not disappoint fans of the comic-book superhero.
Ryan Reynolds helps embody Deadpool by speaking fast with one-liners and making jokes even when the circumstance is most bleak, like the superhero does in the comic books. This movie also caught me by surprise because of the fact that Disney now owns Marvel and most of the Marvel movies were not toned in such a crude way as Deadpool was. This honestly felt like a movie perfect for college students and teenagers, and could relate mostly to these audiences. Ed Skrein plays as the villain known as Ajax who is pretty much a villain with a British accent. The dialogue between Deadpool and Ajax, who is actually named Francis (who constantly asks Deadpool his name, which I'm pretty sure he would know because of Ajax kidnapping his girlfriend and torturing Deadpool), makes it clear that the chemistry wasn't the best but the jokes Deadpool said towards him made me laugh (along with the rest of the audience).
Morena Baccarin, who plays CopyCat, or the love interest of Deadpool, also does a terrific job acting like Reynolds in the aspects where the situation is extremely bad but it doesn't mean a stop for jokes or one-liners. Along with making sexual and every kind of rude jokes possible, Marvel actually makes fun of themselves by referencing the X-Men a couple times in the movie, saying how the origin story (this film) of Deadpool didn't have enough money to hire the likes of Storm or Cyclops or who actually helped make this movie (according to Deadpool) Wolverine.
Overall, the movie creates a unique atmosphere that most other movies can't come even close too (besides the amazing atmosphere and soundtrack of Guardians of the Galaxy). I cannot recommend this movie enough to everyone who is in college and just generally interested in seeing a comedy that will have you cracking upstart to end. However, expect some blood and gore, along with great action and romance (as well as bromance).
