There is never a day that shouldn't be remembered, or valued.
Of course there are holidays, birthdays, memorial service days, tributes etc. that will always be remembered but that is not exactly what I’m talking about. I’m talking about just regular days where you wake up, get dressed go to work or school and carry on with your routine. Those are the days that should be valued more than they are. Too often our lives, freedoms, gifts are taken for granted. Too often we don't realize how truly blessed and lucky we are. Some people don't have the right to vote, own property, speech or even religion and here in America we are not given rights but we earned rights. We stood up to be able to do the things we believed to be important. We stood up for equality. Equality among gender, religion, work positions and so much more. The United States of America is a country like no other. There are so many who everyday risk their lives so that you can even just be able to log onto your computer, phone or device and read this. Without the men and women who stood up for you to be able to live as freely as you do we would all be trapped. Trapped wanting more, trying to figure out how to get more and feeling left out
The everyday lives we live and simple tasks we complete constantly would not be as simple as they seem without someone standing up for you. Don't allow yourself to be a victim of society and to forget who fought so you could just simply wake up in your own bed and put on the clothes that you so choose.
Don’t forget those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for you. You may not know a single law enforcement member, fire fighter, public service official, military member but they know you. They care about you. They fight for you everyday that they wake up so today I challenge you to do something for them. Today, DON’T forget them. REMEMBER them, value them and THANK them for their service, because without them…you would not be able to do the small simple things in life that you do today. Remember the soldiers, the officers, the emergency services that keep you safe everyday because that is important to them and thank someone today. Thank them for all they do to this world, because just like you, they are humans as well, the only difference is they put YOU first everyday, so today….put THEM first.
