You walk inside and you're excited for the day! This is going to go great.
It's only 7:00 A.M. and you expected the kids to be asleep, but it turns out they are wide awake and ready to go.
You begin to wake up and start playing with the kids, and things seem to be going well.
But of course, eventually someone takes someone else's toy, or someone falls and gets hurt and reacts as if they broke their legs (yes, both of them) and you're just thinking,
You comfort them anyway and they suddenly love you.
Congratulations, you made it to lunch and you are so excited!
Then they start to tell a story and you're like...
They're getting crabby and you can tell it's definitely time for a nap.
You want to be sassy back but you remind yourself to be the bigger person (as you are their elder by approximately 15 years).
They wake up from the nap and you are all refreshed and ready to be the best nanny ever, perhaps you suggest a game to play!
Time flies when you're having fun, am I right? Distracting them worked, it's the end of the day!
The parents get home and the kids are disappointed that it's ALREADY time for you to leave. Score! Time to say goodbye.
The kids act like they aren't going to see you for a year, but the nanny life chose you so you know you'll see them tomorrow. You're a mix of this...
...and this.
Let's be honest, here. What you really feel is this...
Be free, nanny! Until tomorrow at 7:00 am, that is.
