There comes a point in every college student's life where he or she has to make the tough decision between staying up all night before a big test, or giving up and getting sleep. Personally, I have chosen to stay up all night more times than I would like to admit. While staying up is a terrible experience when it means spending quality time with your textbooks and energy drinks, nothing compares to the day after the dreaded all-nighter. Don't believe me?
Here are 12 things that happen the day after you decide to stay up all night studying.
1. All you can think about is the exam, midterm or final that you spent the entire night studying for.
2. Your level of tolerance of any noise is so low that even the sound of someone chewing will send you over the edge.
3. Everyone you see gets an involuntary death-stare straight into their soul.
4. The last hour before your exam is spent trying to remember anything -- and I mean anything that you taught yourself from the last 10 plus hours.
5. Coffee starts tasting like dirt after you've had far too many cups that put you dangerously close to heart attack level.
6. The feelings of despair, sadness, and sorrow fill you as you realize that you still do not understand half of what you tried to study.
7. Moments after leaving the test you regret spending so many hours on one single subject.
8. You begin to feel slightly delusional by noon.
9. You must use all of your energy to do simple tasks like text your friends back or climb a single flight of stairs.
10. You would go to great extremes to be able to take a nap.
11. You swear to never pull another all-nighter again.
12. You forget that once the test is over you are expected to carry on with your daily routine and get work done in every other class.
Despite all of these awful things that happen the day after an all-nighter, sadly this is college and all-nighters are an evil that we must all face in order to survive.
