Couples have always ran into the perpetual problem of not knowing what to do for dates. It is easy to fall into the routine of ordering pizza and watching movies. Sometimes you have to spice things up with a list of dates that you can use whenever you encounter one of those, "whatever you want to do" moments.
1. Eat dinner in reverse.
If you want to go for something casual, head to your favorite restaurant but instead of ordering your main course first, start with dessert. It's simple and eating cake first is always a plus.
2. Go on an art date.
Channel your creative spirits on this date. It can be anything from painting, coloring or collaborating on an art piece. This is the time for you both to be Picasso for a day.
3. Help out a charity.
Help out the planet, your local animal shelter or a soup kitchen. There is multiple non-profit organizations that are always willing to take volunteers. It is the perfect combination of having fun and giving back.
4. Have a picnic under a blanket fort.
You want to stay in for the night? Make a blanket fort and have a picnic at home. You will have fun building the fort and eating a meal "out" all in the comfort of your own home.
5. Go on a bookstore date.
Go to your local bookstore and stick notes in your favorite books. Hang out at the cafe in the store. Find some magazines and take all the quizzes together. Find a recipe to use for a later date. The possibilities are endless.
6. Have a musical date.
Battle each other in guitar hero. Make playlists for each other. Play a game in which you play a song and your partner has to guess the title. Go see a local band.
7. Teach each other a skill.
You have always known how to play the ukulele? Teach your partner a song. Your partner is amazing at soccer? Learn some new foot skills. Bonding over your partner's interests is an amazing way to show you care and makes for a fun date.
8. Learn something new.
Visit a museum. Take a pottery or dance class. There is so much to learn and so little time.
9. Do something sporty.
There are countless sporting events you can attend. If you are not interested in sitting in the stands, you can always take the field yourself. Winner gets a kiss!
10. Go to the playground.
Revisit your childhood. There is nothing better than realizing you still have your monkey bar skills as well as reminiscing together on your childhood.
11. Celebrate the Fourth of July.
Wait, it is not the Fourth of July? That is okay! Pull out the sparklers, grill some hot dogs, and plan on dipping into the hot tub. Nothing beats this free-spirited date.
12. Have a bonfire.
You get to stargaze and stuff your face with s'mores. There is nothing better!
13. Go on a mini road-trip.
Is there somewhere you have always wanted to go but thought it was too far away? Plan it for the weekend and go! (On the ride there, you can always incorporate #6).
14. Go on a generational date.
Go on an adventure that a couple that is significantly older than you would go on. People-watch in the park. Do the crossword section of the newspaper together. There truly is comfort in the simple things.
