When deciding on plans for a date, every couple dreads the phrase, “I do not know, what do you want to do?” This phrase has led to many wars between significant others. Here is my advice; sit back, relax, and take a deep breath. Little does everyone know, Southeastern Michigan is one of the best places for exciting dates for all couples! Without further ado, here are some date ideas and tricks for couples this summer in Southeastern Michigan (you can thank me later).

Trick One: Groupon

Groupon is a life saver when trying to find your areas best deals and coupons on all different adventures from horseback riding to shooting range packages. Just click this link to create an account on either your computer, tablet, or cellular phone and start planning your unique next date. Best part, it is free to apply and you can get $10 off your first deal!

Outdoor Date at Stoney Creek Metropark

Staying active and enjoying the outdoors is a breeze this summer at Stoney Creek Metropark. In fact, renting a two person Kayak runs for as little as $10 an hour. Like hiking? Stoney Creek has an abundance of trails to explore by hiking, rollerblading, and biking. Wrap up the afternoon with a picnic and you have yourself an adventurous date.

A Night Out in Novi

For anyone who likes a night out, Novi has some great activities for couples of all ages. Putting Edge has an 18 hole, glow- in-the-dark course. If putt putt golf is not your thing, Sur La Table in Twelve Oakes mall has cooking classes with all different themes and dishes. End the night at Twelve Oakes mall, which also hosts Michigan’s one and only, Cheesecake Factory.

Trick Two: RetailMeNot

RetailMeNot is a coupon app that provides deals for all of your favorite local restaurants and even shops such as Chili’s, Olive Garden,Target, and California Pizza Kitchen. A night out with your significant other does not have to break the bank. The app can be downloaded in the App Store and Google Play Store, plus it is free!

Sweet Treat’s in Rochester

For anyone who has a sweet tooth for donuts and cannot wait for the fall season, Yates Cider Mill, in Rochester hosts an ice cream stand all summer long. At the stand, there is custard, sundaes, cider, and donuts. The cider mill hosts walking trails and is near downtown Rochester. A sweet date that does not disappoint.

Drive-In in Dearborn

Feeling a little old fashioned? Head out to the Ford Drive-In in Dearborn, Michigan for a drive-in movie. The drive-in hosts the newest movie with a twist, you get to enjoy the show in your own vehicle. Visit their website for more information.

Trick Three: Stubhub

StubHub is a ticket buying and reselling website that is perfect for local concerts and sporting events. This summer’s hottest concerts and sporting events can be found on the website providing deals set by the sellers. As someone who uses this website religiously, I can reassure you that this website is safe to use for all buyers and sellers. Your next date is just one purchase away! Visit StubHub to find out about local events.

Take Me Out to the Tiger’s Game

Nothing screams summer like a good old ball game. Even in the midst of a bad season, Tiger’s tickets are not hard to find thanks to my "trick three." Stubhub has cheap tickets for games all summer long starting as little as 6 dollars. Again, dating does not have to break the bank. Another money saving tip is to eat before the game. Greektown and downtown Detroit have a lot of different restaurants to satisfy any pregame cravings. For my over 21-year-olds, some bars, including The Detroiter Bar on Beaubien Street, provides a free shuttle to Detroit Tiger’s games and other sporting events year round.

Escape the Room Detroit

Yet another adventurous date is the new interactive game craze, Escape the Room. Located in downtown Detroit, Escape the Room challenges couples and groups by locking them in a room and giving them 60 minutes to work together to find their way out using the clues in the room. This date is perfect for all ages and great for couples to see how they work under pressure. After all, dating is all about learning about one another, right? For more information about prices, check this out.

Trick Four: Keep It Simple!

There is nothing wrong with keeping things simple! Dating, especially for college students, does not have to break the bank. Sometimes just ordering Chinese take-out and having a movie marathon are all a couple needs to enjoy each other’s company.

Planet Rock in Troy

Indoor rock climbing has become quite popular recently. Planet Rock in Troy, Michigan hosts rock climbing for all ages. While first climbers must participate in a one hour education course, rock climbing is a great activity for couples to enjoy. For more information and hours, visit here.

Motor City Brew Tours

For my 21 and up craft beer lovers, Motor City Brew Tours hosts walking, bike, and private tours to the states most popular brewery’s around including Detroit and Royal Oak. The tours provide beer sampling, pints, and a meal. Visit this link for more information on tours.

Contrary to popular belief, there are many different locations in Southeastern Michigan for your next date night that will never have you saying, “I do not know, what do you want to do?” again. With my help and a little bit of searching, your next date is sure to please.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
