With the global pandemic going on, it's important to look forward to the future. It's important to know that there will be better times ahead, and that one day, we will be able to not have to practice social distancing. Hopefully, we all will be able to go out during the summer months, and this will be helpful for couples to get out of the house as well with all of this staying at home and working at home.

It will also be important for couples to go out on dates when this is all over due to most entertainment spots, such as movie theaters and bowling alleys, currently being closed due to COVID-19. Couples may be at each other's throats during this quarantine, but here are 20 fun date ideas for upcoming safer days and for times that we are able to eventually leave our house to give couples a little hope for what is to come:

1. Going to a local botanical garden

Not only will it make for great pictures for social media but also the floral scenery will stir up feelings of romance

2. Going on a picnic

This can be at a park, during a hike or even in a garden! After all, I'll always take an extra opportunity to eat.

3. Going for a long walk on a hiking trail

There are some gorgeous hiking spots, including waterfall hiking trails, like this one.

4. Going to the beach if you are near one

Imagine sandy toes and sunshine on your skin

5. Painting outside

Nothing is better than a glass of wine and a blank canvas to get the creative juices flowing.

6. Cloud watching

A good conversation starter is what you see in the clouds, open up your imagination

7. Jogging together

Get those endorphins flowing and that blood pumping

8. Tanning outside together

Too much sunbathing is not good, but it can be good to get some vitamin D occasionally.

9. Playing mini golf

Mini golf is a fun, easy, cheap and quick date.

10. Going to a local swimming pool

A great way to relax and one can show off their diving skills.

11. Riding bikes together

Exercise is the best, and biking is a great way to sight see.

12. Stargaze

Nothing is more romantic than sitting underneath a night sky full of stars.

13. Camp outside together

A true couple bonding experience includes roasting marshmallows together as well as sharing a sleeping bag in the great outdoors.

14. Grab a projector, lay out a blanket and have an outdoor movie theater

It's even better if the movie is a romantic comedy.

15. Go to a concert

I personally am buying every concert ticket possible once it's safe to do so again

16. Take a road trip

Start up a couples road trip playlist, and enjoy the ride.

17. Go to a local winery if you’re of age

Wineries can lead to outdoor time together and can make you feel classy and refined.

18. Grab ice cream or frozen yogurt

Kisses are not the only source of sugar necessary on dates

19. Go fishing

Fishing can even lead to catching what you all will have for dinner.

20. Go to a sporting event like an outdoor baseball game

Most people will be rushing to the ticket offices once sporting events are back and can have fans attend again.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
