There is a new duo taking the world by storm. If you haven’t heard of them yet, they are known as Dan+Shay. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney are the "next big thing" in country music. Even if you don’t like country, anyone can enjoy their music.
They started in 2013, and I have been a fan ever since. They started as an opener on tours with artists such as Hunter Hayes and Blake Shelton. They also headlined their tours, and their first album ‘Where It All Began’ was a huge hit. It really skyrocketed their career.
I have had the pleasure of seeing them perform at my school and seeing them at numerous shows. Recently they were picked to perform for "The Bachelorette," of which I was a part. I can’t tell you much other than you have to watch this episode. It was one of the most touching moments I’ve ever witnessed.
As of April 29, you can pre-order their new album "Obsessed," which is entirely fan-based.
I have never met two singers that care more about their fans. The album is named because of their fans always saying they are "#obsessed." They also were picking a fan-of-the-day to release the next song title on the album, which was something that I've never seen done before.
This album's first single is called "From The Ground Up," and has a special place in my heart. The first time I heard it (and every time after that), I sobbed. I actually cried for a whole hour straight. It is a love song that I hope to one day play at my wedding. The song has had that much of an impact on me. It's about Dan and Shay's grandparents and the love they share. I hope one day that someone loves me that much.
The newest single, "Already Ready" which you get when you pre-order the album, is sure to be a hit. I already know a couple songs from this album, and it will be great to have them for real. This album is going to be more mature and show another side of Dan+Shay—which isn’t a bad thing! These guys have a huge future in front of them.
I just want to say thank you, Dan and Shay, for being amazing. I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished already, and I know that you have a strong career ahead of you. I was here from the start, and I believe in whatever you do. You are my inspirations, and I am so thankful you are a part of my life. Keep making us Dashers proud. You are amazing.
