Crystal Healing isn't all Mumbo Jumbo

In any type of natural healing post that you find, there's a decent chance that crystals will be a part of it. Now, I'm not saying every natural remedy involves crystals, but recently I have seen so much about crystals and their energies that I wanted to learn more about it.

I recently picked up a set of crystals in Earthbound in an effort to teach myself about it, as well as having a whole Pinterest board dedicated to it. In essence, crystal healing is the mentality that crystals contain energy that can help you feel better mentally and possibly get well.

A personal favorite is an amethyst, which represents sobriety, healing power, and intuition. I've also found that it helps calm my anxiety down as well. I had the crystal on my key ring and if I hold onto it, I'm instantly calmer. I honestly think that the sobriety aspect does kick in for me.

Another favorite is rose quartz, which stands for self-worth. I do have a necklace that I wear, and I believe that it helps give me a bit of a confidence boost.

Crystals can work with your energy, become in tune with you, and redirect it into what you need; kind of like you can read the energy off of people when you meet them and gauge your mood. It's a reaching concept, I know, but I can truly say that it really does have some great effects if you're willing to give it the chance. I can definitely tell a difference between when I have my crystals on me and when I don't.

For a personal example, I said earlier that I carry an amethyst crystal with me. This past weekend it fell off of its chain and ended up being on my table at home. As I was at work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, I could tell my mood was off. I was exhausted, moody, and pretty exasperated with almost everything. I couldn't really tell why, but I decided to conduct an experiment.

I went to my next shift and made sure that I had it with me, keeping it on the counter and holding onto it if I started to feel anxious. Needless to say, my mood instantly improved and I was back to my oddly bubbly and all over the place self. I have to attribute it to the energy of the crystal instead of it being a comfort thing, and here's why: I know I have really bad anxiety and it can affect my mood when I'm stressed, but I have ways to work around it. The crystal definitely has some energy that rubs off on me, and I'm honestly pretty surprised by it.

It sounded like mumbo jumbo to me too, believe me. But after giving it a chance, I can say that it works so well for me. I highly recommend it if you want to try, and you can get some pretty cheap from Earthbound and Amazon if you wanted to test it out for yourself!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
