I have been on three cruises in my lifetime to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Canada/Maine, when I was in 5th grade, after 11th grade, and after 12th grade. I think cruising is so much fun, and I hope to go again with friends one day. They're so much fun and I always have a great time. Here are ten reasons why I love cruising so much:
1. Everything is included
When pricing most vacations, you have to factor in transportation, food, and lodging, along with activities. For cruises, most of this is figured in with your regular bill, so there is no math required!
2. All you ever need is within walking distance
Your cabin is about a two-minute walk from the pool, restaurants, theaters and anything else on board. Most hotels are not even that close to the beach, let along other amenities.
3. You can travel to many places without changing rooms
One of the most annoying factors about going to multiple places in one trip is changing rooms. You do not have enough time to really adjust and enjoy your home away from home. But on a cruise ship, your room travels with you! Feel free to stretch out and bring as much as you want.
4. Most cruises feature both beach getaways and little cities
Every boat I have been on has a minimum of four restaurants and a buffet included in the price of the ticket, plus bars, eateries, and more! The possibilities are endless, and I still remember eating ice cream at 9 PM from the buffet, then going to the 24-hour restaurant at 2 AM with friends for wings. Plus, everything was included!
6. You eat a lot, but also exercise a lot
Aside from the gym on board, you do a lot of walking! From running back to your room to grab something, or dancing the night away, you are constantly active.
7. Lots of dancing
From deck parties to clubs on board, there is always somewhere to party and have fun.
8. You can meet lots of new people
I met lots people between the three cruises I have been on, and some I have kept in touch with them, liking each other's Instagram posts and seeing what they are up to. It's like a trial-friendship; if you mess up, you won't lose a close friend, but you could also gain a life-long travel companion or just a week-long friend.
9. You see the same people every day and there is always a few odd ducks in the crowd
When I was in Canada with my mom, we had a long list of people we had nicknames for, including Led Zeppelin guy, who only asked for Led Zeppelin songs from the ship's nightly piano player; the Bird People, a couple who walked around with puppet birds on their shoulders and posed for pictures; and The Kennedy's, an extremely good-looking and wealthy family who was always dressed up and looked alike. This is just to name a few, but it was fun seeing them and the friends I made daily.
10. There is something for everyone
Every cruise ship has activities for every age group, age 3 to 90. There are kids' clubs that are normally offered for anyone 3-17 and divided up by age, lots of activities for adults, and normally places that just teenagers go to.
In the end, it'll be a great trip, and you'll have a lot of fun!
