Cristina Yang may come off cold-hearted and brutal. I'm not here to say that you're wrong for thinking that.

Cristina is brilliant. While you may think that she is too hard on life and on people, take a step back and realize that her confidence and realisticness are qualities that you should strive for. She's the best at giving advice in order to make you think more of yourself when you really need to. Learn from her and own your greatness.

Here are nine powerful quotes from the queen herself.

1. "Don't let what he wants eclipse you. He may be dreamy but he's not the sun, you are."

2. "Oh, screw beautiful. I'm brilliant. if you want to appease me, compliment my brain."

3. "Pretty is not good enough, I want to be great."

4. "If you want crappy things to stop happening to you, then stop accepting crap and demand something more."

5. "Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be a force of nature. Be better than anyone here, and don't give a damn what anyone thinks. There are no teams here, no buddies. You're on your own, be on your own."

6. "That's when the real work begins. To find hope where there seems to be absolutely none at all."

7. "I won't have time to talk to you. I'll be too busy being better than you."

8. "Sometimes the future changes quickly and completely, and we’re left with only the choice of what to do next. We can choose to be afraid of it, to stand there trembling not moving, assuming the worst that can happen or we step forward into the unknown and assume it will be brilliant."

9. "I'd say wish me luck, but I don't need it."

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
