Being a college student is hard, don't get me wrong. The endless studying, homework assignments, trying to get your cardio in, and occasional meltdowns take a toll on your soul. That's why I decided almost a year ago to this day to create a blog. I was going through an abusive relationship (which I didn't tell people for a while) and just felt like I lost my way. My ex and I broke up, I took a semester off school, and just tried to glue myself back together.
Making a blog helped me through everything imaginable. Not only could I voice my emotions in a comfortable environment, but I felt like I could be a voice for others too. Sophomore year, I fell into severe depression and anxiety. I felt like no one cared about me. This blog I created was a safe space where I felt I could help others. Now speed up to my junior year. I have a kickass boyfriend, supportive friends, great family, and a healthy lifestyle. I've never felt happier. Bring on school though and everything that comes with it.
I still use my blog not necessarily for the reasons that I used to have, but as an outlet to help me with the stress of college. I highly recommend that if you're ever feeling like you can't keep doing your schedule, look at a blog. Heck, even make one. I swear the inspiration I get from reading others' keeps me pushing through every day. Wordpress or Blogspot is a great place to start if you feel this is a good idea for you. It's like a diary, but a digital one. Bridget Jones would be so proud. So go out there and roam the internet for ideas or just plain aesthetically pleasing pictures or words.
