What are you planning on doing this summer? Going to the beach, the pool and hanging out with your friends like you did last summer? That's cool and all, but you should consider some alternatives every once in a while. Consider making some things this summer that you can use or keep forever. You will look at them for years to come and memories of that summer will come rushing back. Maybe your friends will even join in too!

1. Start An Art Journal

The beauty about an art journal is that there is no correct or incorrect way to do it. You can check Pinterest for ideas and inspiration, but it is essentially up to you to express how you are feeling at that moment. You can start one during the summer and look back through it to remember what you were doing and how you were feeling for pretty much the whole summer.

2. Tie-Dye Shirts

Get some friends together and transform some boring white shirts into some seriously funky tie-dye shirts! You can wear them to the beach or just around the house, but it will be a fun bonding experience for all of you. Here is a good tutorial to get you started.

3. Paint Chip Calendar

This is something you can make and use either during the summer or for your dorm / apartment next semester. Isn't it so cute? You can put the days of the week at the top or leave it blank like this one, it's up to you! You can also put it in a picture frame and write on it with dry erase markers.

4. DIY Bath Bombs

If you're tired of paying Lush prices, why not make a stab at making your own bath bombs? Here is a tutorial to get you started, and you may even have some of the things you need already (olive oil, baking soda, and water). Once you get a feel for it, you can start experimenting with adding some more things in.

5. Paint Chip Bookmarks

Paint chips are just so useful, as you've probably noticed and not just for painting your house. For this, all you need are paint chips, a hole punch, some ribbon and some markers. You can laminate them if you have access to a laminating machine, but it's not necessary.

6. DIY Marble Mugs

Aren't these so pretty? All you need for these are white mugs, nail polish, tooth picks, hot water and a container (that you don't mind getting ruined). You can see the full tutorial here. Please note, these aren't dishwasher safe or microwaveable.

7. DIY Dreamcatchers

Get a group of friends together and make some dreamcatchers! These will look beautiful in your dorm or apartment next semester, or just in your room at home. There are so many different types of dreamcatchers to make, there is definitely one for everyone and room for creativity. You can find a list of different types and tutorials here, with dreamcatchers ranging from bright peacock, to vintage, to blushing pink.

8. Ombre Flower Wall Canvas

This one seems pretty easy. All you need is a canvas, some fake flowers, a hot glue gun and some bright spray paints of your choice. Very simple, but very pretty!

9. DIY Glittery Pink Vases

Another craft you don't need very many materials for. All you need are glass vases, a paint brush, confetti glitter and glue. You can see the full tutorial for these here.

10. Mason Jar Soap Dispenser

And finally, mason jar soap dispensers! There are plenty of ways to customize these but here is a tutorial to get you started. These make great gifts and also look fabulous in dorm rooms. Happy crafting!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
