Poems about Grief

Coping with a loss

37
Poems about Grief

I'm not ready,

To say goodbye forever,

My hands are sweaty,

However,

It's your time,

You know it's true,

Always enjoyed my rhymes,

But I learned that from you,

You've taught me well,

Taught me to be strong,

Even when I fell,

We knew something was wrong,

When you said to me,

You won't make it to our birthdays,

At least you'll be free,

No more delays,

Don't you worry,

I'll always be here,

There's no hurry,

For you to disappear,

But before you go,

And your mind turns to sand,

I just want you to know,

I'm right here, holding your hand,

How much I care,

And how deep my love is,

I need some air,

To process all of this,

But what I need to say,

Is that I'll be okay,

I'll go my own way,

Won't be a stray,

Don't worry, I'll make it,

I have everything I need,

Because of you,

You've done your deed,

Just focus on the view,

Of where you're happy,

It'll be easier,

Don't mean to sound sappy,

This poem's getting cheesier,

But it's alright,

To make the journey,

Somewhere nice and bright,

We understand,

Even though,

We can't stand,

To watch you go,

But it's your time...

This next poem is after one year coping with the loss of a close family member. It shows the growth and change that you go through coping.

It's already been a year,

Where has the time gone?

Everyday I shed tears,

Sitting on the front lawn,

I'm all alone,

In this big ol' world,

Just wish I would've known,

Instead of being stuck in a dreamworld,

Can't you see?

How lost I am without you?

You were my key,

It's a hard pill to chew,

Can't go anywhere,

Without thinking of you,

Life just isn't fair,

You and me, we were stuck like glue,

Always lived with this fear,

Having to carry on,

Without you near,

But now that you're gone,

I miss you more than ever before,

If you were here,

You'd say "Go out and live, find out what life has in store!"

Your spirit runs through me,

You'd say "It's your time, to go out and explore."

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
