DJ Khaled has been really having our backs lately. From telling us all the keys to success to even letting us know that we been playing ourselves. In case you are not up to date with today's slang terms, “playing yourself” according to the Urban Dictionary means, “Screw things up for yourself. Let yourself down. Betray yourself by acting in a way that's opposite to your own interests or (conscious) intentions.” Currently if you've been on Instagram or Twitter lately you've seen the DJ Khaled memes that say “Congratulations, you played yourself” to various scenarios.
If you're anything like me, I enjoy a good laugh, so I'm gonna state my own ideas of situations in which being young adults that we are “playing ourselves” therefore before you do these things the next go around you'll be like hold I refuse to play myself this time or afterwards you can mumble to yourself in the saddest voice, “….Congratulations, you played yourself.”
1. Thinking that the overrated man-boy you're snap-chatting 24/7 and staying up late texting is only talking to you…Congratulations, you played yourself.

3. Going home for the holidays thinking that every night your parents are going to cook a homemade meal to make up for that cafeteria food…Congratulations, you played yourself.
4. Going on a date with a boy and thinking just because he asked you out that he won't ask for two separate tickets…Congratulations, you played yourself.
5. Going out on Thursday night thinking that you will make it to that Friday 8 a.m. Congratulations, you played yourself.
6. Going to the Victoria Secret semi-annual sale a week after it begins thinking you find something above a B-Cup…Congratulations, you played yourself.
7. Girls who put their boyfriends before their best friends then think he go be there for you in the long run..Congratulations you played yourself.
8. Holding the line up at Old Navy thinking you about to apply for a credit card and get percentages off knowing you don't got no credit yet…Congratulations, you played yourself.
9. Bringing all your winter clothes home to South Arkansas…Congratulations, you played yourself.
