Pretty much everyone has heard the results of the Academy Awards and which actors/actresses won Oscars and who didn't. And, I know that the Internet has already been swamped with fans talking about the most waited for Oscar award ever: Leonardo DiCaprio's.

I just want all of us die-hard, lifelong Leo fans to take some time to appreciate the fact that our boy finally received the award he has so deserved for such a long time. We have all watched him grow up as an actor and we have followed him through his career.

Now our little Leo is all grown up and winning an Oscar! We are so proud.

Or, at least I am.

However, I have a bone to pick with the voters because there were so many other times he should have or could have won due to his amazing acting skills.

I will be the first to admit that I did not watch all of Leo's movies when they came out, since I was born in 1992 and his first nomination was in 1994 for a movie that came out when I was a year old, "What's Eating Gilbert Grape".

Now, if you are anything like me, you fell in love with Leo when he played Jack, the incredibly romantic hunk, in Titanic. You also probably continued to drool over him as you and he both grew older and more mature.

Because let's face it. He is gorgeous!

Now, his looks aren't the only thing we like about him. He has captivated us with his acting. He has brought characters to life for us to get attached to, and he made us fall in love with the ideas he brought to life on the big screen.

We would get proud and excited when his name would come up for nominations.

We felt pain and heartbreak when he didn't win, and every time he would get a new nomination the cycle started all over again.

This year, when the nominations came out and we saw that our Leo was nominated for Best Actor for his role in "The Revenant", it was no different for us. Except this year we got our happy ending.

He got nominated.

Our hopes kept rising.

The award show night approached and got underway.

This time, Leo won.

As he walked to the stage to accept his award, our hearts collectively soared and tightened with joy as we teared up with pride. We held on to every word he spoke in his acceptance speech and we wept in admiration.

Our Leo...that was our Leo finally winning his Oscar.

Leonardo DiCaprio, we, all of your fans, want you to know how proud we are of you!
