OK, I will admit it — I am addicted to shopping online. In the past year or so, I have gotten hooked on online shopping. It started with Amazon, then I ventured out to other sites. Why drive to the mall when you can buy things while you're laying in bed in your pajamas? It's definitely the way to go. I know I can't possibly be the only one that suffers from this addiction. Here are some common traits of us online shopping addicts:
1. Free shipping is the best thing that's ever happened to you.
Seriously, what's better than free shipping? Amazon Prime was the best investment I have ever made. I've probably saved hundreds of dollars from not having to pay shipping. If I shop from another website and have to pay shipping, I cry a little inside.
2. The UPS guy is in your driveway every day.
And you may even be friends with him. Seeing him makes your day so much better. He probably hates you at this point, but you do a happy dance when you see him pulling into your driveway.
3. You've bought things you really don't need.
If you're like me, you'll get hooked by the "50 percent off today only!" posts. Or when they offer the "free gift with purchase" deal. Gets me every time. But I do have a pretty good collection of wool socks, liquid cotton bed sheets, key chains, water bottles, phone cases... the list goes on and on.
4. Seeing a package on your doorstep is like Christmas.
The best feeling is when you pull into the driveway and see a pretty little box on your porch. I get my best exercise sprinting from my car to the door just to pick it up.
5. You track your order multiple times a day.
Especially when it's something super important, like your new Victoria's Secret bathing suit or a new pair of shoes that you have to have by tomorrow night.
6. It's the best distraction from your homework or anything else.
There is always an extra tab or window open for your online shopping site of choice, so when you're just so over your homework, it'll be right there waiting for you.
7. Cyber Monday may or may not be the best day of the year.
Who doesn't love a good sale? You can get three years worth of family Christmas gifts in one day.
8. It has become your favorite hobby.
Really, shopping online couldn't get better. You don't have to have any social interaction, you don't have to wait in long lines, you can do it anywhere and you can do it in the comfort of your sweatpants.
Very rarely do I go out to buy things anymore. Who has time or patience for that? I am an online shopaholic and I am proud.
P.S. I may or may not have ordered something while writing this.
