I live for positive mantras, and that is not an overstatement. When going through all my transitions, mantras like these pushed me through the hard days with more ease!
1. Fuck it, let that shit go.
This one comes from a meditation that my aunt sent me. It can be found on youtube here. In the beginning of the video, the speaker explains how swearing can lead to reduced pain tolerance mentally and physically. Pretty cool, huh?
The essence of the mantra is to inhale and think, fuck it, and on the exhale, let all that shit go. It was so special to me that I decided to paint it along with colors that brighten my day!
2. Positive mind, positive vibes, positive life
I have had this one hanging in my room for about five years and made a new one for my new home. This one naturally translated to my everyday life because as soon as your mind flips that positivity switch, it radiates into your life and the lives of others!
3. Maya Angelou's wisdom
Though not a mantra, this quote can be translated to your mindset too! This is very special to me because it came into my life on a day that I was feeling regretful and all around down in the dumps. I found it powerful because it's an amazing perspective shift on the definition of beauty. Beauty is not only the final product but the whole journey it takes to get there.
4. Grow through what you go through
A shortened version of what my parents and brother have always taught me, our experiences are meant to help us grow and learn from our mistakes. Keeping this in mind during times of rough transitions, changes, or bad days, helps shift my perspective on the situation. It's a way to start noticing that going through something hard, causes a positive growth in your life. I wrote this one out in a notebook my brother gave me when I moved away, which makes it extra special!
5. Hakuna Matata
"It means no worries... for the rest of your days..." This one has been my go to mantra for as long as I can remember. So much so, that my very best friend, painted this for me 5 or 6 years ago! This mantra's meaning is special not only because The Lion King is my absolute favorite movie, but because it flows into each of my worries and shoves them away when I need a clear head. Plus, it's really, really fun to sing along to.
Your positivity and mindset has the power to be passed on to others. I hope these mantras or a search for your own mantras leads its way into your life, and the people you surround yourself with!
