Confessions Of A Dog Lover

Confessions Of A Dog Lover
Maddie Ruth

I love dogs. There is something so calming and loving about them. They can turn any frown upside down and they are always excited to see you. Being an animal lover myself I have to say dogs are on the top of my list as one of my favorite animals. They are always there for you; they listen to you and cuddle with you when you are in some need for attention. I have provided things that I believe will be relatable to all of us dog lovers.

1.Please love me!

I honestly get sad when a dog doesn’t reciprocate the love. I am so use to my dog being excited for attention from anyone that when I actually have a dog with not as much enthusiasm I get sort of offended. That is actually really embarrassing to admit, but I just sit there like, “why won’t you love me back”?

2. Every dog is cute!

YES! Every dog is cute in their own way, just like every person is beautiful in their own way. Whether they are fat, old, naked, hairy or small I find their own cuteness. Plus nothing is better as a dog owner than hearing someone tell you how cute your dog is.

3. They are called fur babies.

I cannot wait to have a fur baby f my own to spoil with love and kisses. Currently the dog I have now thinks of me as just another human due to the fact that my dad is the favorite of the household. Dogs should be treated as a part of the family, make them feel included and believe me, you will be the most bragged about human in the neighborhood.

4. Dogs are better than humans.

I know this is probably over said, but let’s be real dogs are better than humans. Even on your hardest days they are always there for you, even if you guys get into a mini disagreement they make up to you five minutes later. Dogs are so loyal and because you saved them and they aren’t able to speak with words to tell you how much they love you, they speak through actions, which actions can sometimes speak louder than words.

5. I want them all!

I can see myself being that eighty year old woman with thirty rescued dogs because I couldn’t just chose one and wanted to take them all home. If I could save all of the dogs in the world I would. Nothing makes a dog lover sadder than knowing that so many dogs are mistreated, hungry or homeless in this world. I would love to have an orphanage for dogs to go to, and feel the love and protection that they need.

Having a dog can be life changing. Dogs are such great therapy for anyone; they have such a charisma about them creating smiles wherever they go. Being able to do that is beautiful and is the main reason why I myself am such a dog lover.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
