Confession: I Have Road Rage

Situations that piss me off while driving

Confession: I Have Road Rage

This is going to be a rant. Let’s start out by saying I am not a perfect driver. No one is. But there are certain things that people do while driving that really grinds my gears.

First and foremost, if you text and drive, I probably hate you. There’s no excuse and you’re just being ignorant. Next, if you don’t use your turn signal, I definitely hate you. If you are turning, your right hand has to move over about four inches and it only takes a flick of the wrist. On that note, how do people not know their turn signals have been on for five minutes? How loud can your music be that you can’t hear it? And do you not look down at the dashboard and see it blinking?

Another situation that irks my soul is when you’re on the highway and someone is pretty close in front of you and a person passing you decides it would save them loads of time by just getting in front of you. There will STILL be another car right in front of you now. Now that I’m on the highway topic, the left lane is for passing. If you are not passing the person in the right lane, move over.

If I'm stopped and the people in front of me are stopped too, and you honk at me, I will most likely throw my hands up and yell at you through the rear view mirror. Okay, here you go, let me just bulldoze my car on top of these people so we can both pass! And if I’m the first person at the light and it turned green about seven milliseconds ago, I’ll see it when I see it and I’ll go when I want to so don’t beep then either.

Also, not blaming anyone on this, but just questioning why sometimes when everyone is cruising at 70 miles per hour, all of a sudden, traffic comes to a standstill. Then, two minutes later, I pick up speed to 70 miles per hour again. Like if there was no accident or lane closed, what happened in that span of a mile that made everyone stop their cars? Another question I have is why we don’t need to retake our license tests every certain number of years. Sorry grandma and grandpa, but if you’re over eighty years old, maybe you need to stay off the road and save the driving for the younger and faster generation.

By the way, HEY FRIENDS, if it is remotely dark outside or if it is raining, put your frickin’ lights on. As Nike would say, just do it. Here’s another one that fuels the fire. Drive the speed limit por favor. If you drive under the speed limit, no one wants you on the road because people have things to do and places to be and you’re not helping the cause.

On another note, if I let you pull out in front of me when I am stopped and you don’t wave thank you, you’re dead to me and I regret letting you go in front of me in the first place.

Last but not least, tailgate me and I will drive slow just to get on your nerves. Your frustration will make me happier than me being on time to my destination.

#sorrynotsorry I have road rage because some people just don’t know how to drive.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
