Tips And Tricks For Going To A Concert

Concerts are absolutely amazing! I've been to at least six (maybe more…I don’t know, I lost track). Each time I went to one I learned a new way to enjoy your time and make the best of it because you never know when you’re ever going to see your favorite band or singer again.

Here are some tips and tricks:

Invest in a good quality camera.

Sometimes just using your phone doesn’t work out. In 2014, I went to see Paramore and Fall Out Boy Monumentour. My phone had EVERY. SINGLE. video and picture I had taken of that night. Two days later my phone ended up breaking before I could even back it to the computer. I was devastated because I just had lost everything from that night. Since then I now take a Nikon COOLPIX S7000 to every concert I go to. It’s super nice and a great investment. I highly recommend it!

Make sure to have drawstring backpack or a small bag.

One thing you don’t want to do is put all of your belongings in your pockets. That’s just one way of losing your personal items such as your wallet or car keys (that would not be good). Having a drawstring backpack is an easy fix to carry all of your items. Plus its easier access to when you need your phone for that perfect selfie with your best friend.

Buy at least one thing from the merchandise stand.

Besidesthe long lines and people cutting in front of you, buying a t-shirt or a lanyard is a great reminder that you saw that one band or singer that you have been WANTING to see for the longest time. At each concert I’ve been to I always buy a T-shirt because you can save it years and years and when you come across it, all of the memories of the concert come to mind. Plus, if you’re like me and have a pile of concert t-shirts, you can make a quilt out of them to display all of them.

Hydrate. Hydrate. HYDRATE.

I can’t stress it enough — you need to drink water because the last thing you need is to pass out from heat exhaustion. Yes, the price of water at most concert venues is a little pricey, but your health is the most important.

Wear a comfortable outfit and shoes.

With all the walking around and standing during the show, you want to be able to not be restricted. The best bet would be wearing a tank top or maybe that shirt you bought at the merch stand, a pair of shorts and sneakers. OR If you’re just that crazy of a fan you can dress up in a costume. Last year, I went to see Taylor Swift in Foxborough, Massachusetts. My friends and I planned on getting into Loft 89 (you could meet Taylor and eat pizza with her….who wouldn’t want to try to get in). So, we planned on wear the same outfits. Sparkly sequin tops (with attached lights on them so she would notice us) with skirts. Let me tell you…it was the most comfortable outfit I ever wore.

I hope with all of these tips and tricks that you have an amazing time. Cherish each and every moment. Singing all the words to every song on the top of your lungs. Make it known that YOU are there for a good time and no one can judge you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
