The Concert Experience

Going to a concert is something everyone should experience because it is one of the best experiences ever, here is why.

Going to concerts is a must for me because you cannot get that experience on a CD. The only problem with concerts is that they cost money. Concerts range in prices. You can see someone and have great seats for 20 dollars, but then for another artist it will be in the hundreds for those same seats. One thing I’ve learned is that you do not need to have close and expensive seats to have a great time because even in the nose bleed seats you will get the same experience. It does not matter if you are at the very top in the last row, you will still be able to feel the music and hear the artist raw and unedited voices.

The Experience

What I love about concerts is that your body will be shaking from the sound and your ears will be filled with nothing but the music. At a concert you get to truly feel the music all over and I think that is the most amazing feeling. You also get to experience the artist and their personality. You get to see them sing/play their heart out and then they have small conversations with you in-between songs. The best part, for me, is seeing how the artist preforms the song and how they interact with the audience, something you can’t get in a CD or digital download. These concerts they put together are a visual representation of how they feel/felt when they wrote the song and the message they are trying to send. It is like watching what it would have been like had they made a movie or music video out of the songs.

Opening Acts

The opening acts can be just as amazing. Sometimes it can be an artist you have never heard of or someone you have, but the opening acts of a concert are the ones that just get you pumped and ready for the main attraction. They are usually artist that are similar to in style or just simply liked by the main artist so it’s rare that you dislike the opening act. This is also a great way to discover new artist.

Free Local Shows

Going to small shows is great as well and a lot easier on the wallet. If there is a concert going on at your local park, go! Free concerts in your local city, or those in small business are just as great. You may not know the artist playing but by the end of the night they may become your new favorite artist. It’s a great way to discover new music and just get a great experience. Chilling out to great music with friends is always a great experience and going to free local concerts is a great way to destress and just have a great time while listening to great music.

My suggestion is that if an artist you love is coming somewhere near you, go! If you are able to then I say go to the concert even if you buy the cheapest tickets in the nose bleed section because you will still get the experience. It will still be a night you’ll never forget and you will not regret it. Money is always a big issue getting in the way of being able to see someone you love live, but when you have the opportunity I highly recommend going.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
