I Saw One Of My Favorite Bands Live And Had The Time Of My Life

With the stress of online school, work, and figuring out what I'm doing with my life, I like to find remedies to cure the constant stress that is my life. One of these relievers is music. I can't begin to write about how important music is and how it brings people together, but the opportunity to go to one of your favorite band's concert is something you have to experience at least once in your lifetime.

After seeing The Arctic Monkeys live after listening to them for five years, I got the payoff in music I deserved.

Going on road trips is already fun. But going with your best friend and you both love the band equally, It's a bond that's hard to describe, but to debrief it: it's similar to a never-ending amount of happiness. While we did go to Chicago together, the trip to Nashville was a shorter drive and less than half the amount of stress. The difference between this road trip from the last was I have been listening to this band for some years now, so I felt more familiar with what I was about to experience at the concert.

A majority of the car ride to Nashville consisted of remembering all of The Arctic Monkey's albums and predicting which ones would be included in the set. With six studio albums and an endless amount of EP's and singles, we had no idea what to expect. I found a Spotify playlist with nearly all of the band's music, with a six-hour running time. Since Nashville was only 3 hours away, we got to the album "AM" before reaching our destination. Out of all the albums The Arctic Monkeys have released, "AM" is by far the most popular and the most well-known for people who might not be familiar with the band. Although they recently released an album merely a month ago, "AM" will still be iconic for its famous beats.

In addition to seeing The Arctic Monkeys live for the first time, my best friend and I got to experience downtown Nashville. That was a journey within itself. This heightened our experience because we were in a new city downtown. Plus, the concert was down the street from downtown on the river. That was the icing on the cake. We weren't going to be standing in a crowd of random people sweating and standing uncomfortably waiting before their set started. We had the opportunity to relax on the lawn and enjoy the good weather and music.

By the time the band got on the stage, it was 9 p.m. We were extremely excited to see what they had in store for the fans as the band members one by one walked on the stage. They opened with a song off their new album, "Four Out Of Five," followed by their most popular song "Do I Wanna Know?" This was an instant sign the set was going to be incredible. Lead singer Alex Turner never looked and sounded better live. The music sounded exactly like on the records but so much better. I realized through this concert that talented bands have the power to make their music more enjoyable live and more memorable. I am forever grateful for the experience and I am so glad I got to go.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
