America. Stop Feeding Into Fear.

Do not let history repeat itself giving into prejudice with Trump's future agenda on "controlling" the Muslim & Arab population.

Just a couple of days ago, President Obama and his administration banned the outrageously dated and prejudice program by National Security in tracking the Muslim and Arab immigrants in America. The program was fabricated a while back, around the time of 9/11, but the question of its return has been brought up with Trump and his upcoming presidency.

As we all can recall, President Elect Trump has mentioned a control in allowing Muslims into the United States, but how? With this program, Trump has taken notes on what he might possibly do to "control" the Muslim population in this country. According to CNN, Trump's adviser Kellyanne Conway states that Trump's take would be to track those who are," [from countries] where we know that they've got a higher propensity of training and exporting terrorists."

Terrorism is at its all time high. We see attacks on the news. More and more hate crimes are happening here in the U.S. and abroad. We as Americans, should not feed into the fear of us being attacked by those we so deem as being "affiliated" with terrorism. One religion nor one people are tied to terrorism. Horrid acts stem from horrid people and the ideas that brainwash them. In times like these, we all need to band together in opposition of what terrorism brings: hatred and violence. No matter the race, ethnicity or religion, we all need to realize the fact that all of us deserve the same treatment and respect. We should not blame a people or religion for the acts of individuals alone.

History can even tell us the outcome of what happens when humans give in to fear. Germany was blind to the facts of what World War I caused, making the acts of Nazis and their spread of hellish hatred to a religious group okay. We need to prevent the spread of uncertainty and fear in order to move forward into a trusting community of people. This applies to everyone worldwide and their fears of what terrorism has brought upon all of us. Do not let the rise of terrorism hinder your judgement of what is morally right and wrong. Do not let it blind you from seeing the good in people. Do not let our future President use it as a way to sway his policies in pinpointing innocent people living with similar aspirations, dreams, and truths as any of us. This does not combat terrorism, it allows for it to thrive, and it sure as hell is not a solution.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
