As previously discussed in my other article, "Beware of Adult Coloring Books," I cannot resist coloring books. They are my weakness whenever I am trying to save money. Even if they seem like a ridiculous item to buy or to even invest time into, they do a considerable job with helping me keep my sanity. How could coloring between the lines keep you sane? Well, I've compiled a handful of reasons for you.

I have a busy life, an even more busy life now that school has just started. I go to college full time, I work most of the time I'm not in school, I write these articles when I can, I volunteer at a museum today and sometimes I do all of the above all in one day. My days can easily be a constant rush from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is my life and I have come to terms with it, because I know that when I move to Los Angeles in less than a year, it will only get busier and more stressful. At the same time, I endure a constant push and pull between people who want my attention or time, like my boyfriend, mom, dad, family, friends, etc. Sometimes I have a few minutes to spare, so in those few minutes whether it be sitting for 30 minutes awaiting my next class or a few minutes before I have to go to bed, I sometimes color. I color to keep my sanity. I color to let my mind go blank for ten seconds. I color to get distracted by the pretty colors. I color to cope with life. I color to make pretty pictures. Most of all, I color for myself.

Yes, I spend all of my spare time dedicated to coloring. Granted, it is not a lot of spare time, but there is something so relaxing and calming about picking out a page, picking out coloring utensils and coloring them in. Then you get to give your completed images away to someone as a gift! Or you get to keep them and put them up as decor. Or you can put them in a binder to flip through to see how much stress you really have and debate whether or not you should consider seeing a therapist. You even have fun picking out new coloring books that you know you don't need to buy, but do it anyway. Same applies for coloring utensils. However, it does not stop me and I am sure I now have at least a million markers and pencils, but they were 50% off, so it isn't that bad right?

Moral of this story: we all die anyway, so spend your money on coloring books so you can remain calm for the rest of your life; or at least until your rent is due... coloring won't save you then.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
