The holiday season is the time for giving, but it's hard to give when you are ballin' on a budget. As a college student, money is always tight so it's very difficult to give to the people who deserve it the most. If you need to get quick cash this holiday season, follow these steps and your family and friends will have the best Christmas yet.
1. Ramen for days
Release your inner college student by substituting every meal with Ramen Noodles. Ramen is about 20 cents per meal, so multiple that by three and that equals 60 cents a day to eat. Continue to eat Ramen for every meal until Christmas and you will save so much money! Your life may be at risk, but your family with have a fantastic holiday.
2. Get another job
Although finals are already stressful enough, you might as well get another job. Work as much you possibly can that way you fail all of your finals. Grades aren't important during the holiday season.
3. Coffee isn't that important...
If you are anything like me, coffee gives me life. Without it... Yikes, it's not a pretty picture. But if you think about it, each coffee run you make costs between three to five dollars. If you calculate one coffee run for each of the week, at the end of the week you will have spent between twenty-one to thirty dollars. That is a lot of gifts you could be giving!
4. Chipotle is not your life anymore
At this point, Chipotle is out of the question. Over six dollars for a bowl?! Dream on sister.
5. Financial probation here I come
If you are extremely desperate for some extra cash, "forget" to pay your dues. I know it may be frowned upon, but imagine all the presents you could buy with that money! You may get kicked out of your sorority but as long as your great aunt Betty has a gift, life will carry on.
6. Dump your significant other
Having a bae during the holidays can add up fast. So the best solution is to kick them to the curb. You really don't need a New Years kiss that bad.
7. Credit card doesn't matter
When you are young, credit card debt doesn't count right? Charge all of your holiday purchases on a credit card. You may be in debt until your first born graduates college, but you will give your family an amazing holiday.
8. Sell an organ
This may be slightly illegal, but it's all in the spirit of the holiday!
9. Flee the country
At this point, you might as well leave the country and start a new life else where. Your loved ones will never look at you the same because of your terrible gifts.
Maybe don't listen to me...
Regardless of what you give or do not give this holiday season, your family and friends will appreciate you just being there! The holidays aren't about giving the best gift, it's about coming together and being thankful for all you have.
