There are many defining moments of the college experience. Your first day on campus you walk around with a map to track down each of your classes. You set foot in the dining halls for the first time and find out firsthand which food is bueno and which means... "bathroom". You get your first "A" on an exam. You fail a class. You lose friends. You make friends. You cry in the library during finals week. You embrace the freedom of a beautiful Friday after a long week of classes. You love and you lose. You experience moments from freshman, to sophomore, to junior year that blend to create an incredible time of self-discovery as you begin to mold your future. Campus is home. But it's not until senior year that these little moments seem to have a timer on them. You roll your eyes as you walk up the stairs of the Liberal Arts building to another core class, but then suddenly you're wondering when the last time you'll walk those stairs will be. It's just around the corner.
1. You walk around campus and realize you'll never see these buildings the same way again.
Bittersweet.
2. You're over early morning classes.
8 a.m.'s...why am I still doing this?
3. And homework.
Not doing it.
4. So, YES, you are going out three nights a week instead.
5. JK, time to get serious so you can actually graduate.
6. You realize how much you'll miss living with your BFF's.
They just "get" you.
7. Someone asks what you're doing after graduation.
This is all you have planned so far.
8. Job hunting.
You are simultaneously both of them.
9. *Flashback to accepting your loans the past four years*
10. How you imagine graduation day:
11. How it actually is:
12. You reflect on your college love life.
13. You remember when you were seven and thought you wanted to be engaged by now.
14. Thinking about who you will invite to graduation.
15. When you remember the real MVP.
I couldn't have gotten through any of my research papers without you.
16. When your parents you remind you that if you move back home you will need to start paying rent immediately.
17. The near future.
Enjoy your last few months, seniors! It'll be over before we know it.
