The movie "Master of Disguise" is hilarious, all because of Dana Carvey, of course. There are some scenes that just seem to especially stand out as a perfect way to describe the college experience. Though it's safe to say that everyone experiences college differently, there are some things that we all generally have in common. Similar to the main character, Pistachio, we are all trying to find our "true destiny", or, at least, something like that. Because of this, there are many similarities between the film and real life, even if we won't admit it.
1. When making any decision about anything.
Do you wear a tee shirt or a long sleeve shirt? Do you study accounting or youth ministry? Homework or Netflix? All questions lead to the same answer: I don't know what to do.
2. When there are visitors on campus.
Even though we just went through the same process only a few years ago, we still feel the need to mock the "young" high school students. Don't worry though, in a few years, they'll get the chance to do the same thing.
3. When someone skips class then asks to borrow your notes.
I had to wake up a 7:00 and try to stay awake during class, and you want my notes because you slept in? Not happening.
4. Taking off your makeup after any 80's themed party.
Even if you wear makeup on a daily basis, nothing compares to the amount of bright colors you cake onto your face for any 80's themed events.
5. When class is over, but the professor is still talking.
This also applies to other students that raise their hand at the last second. Please, class is over, we just want to LEAVE.
6. When you have a TON of homework to do.
Sometimes homework can just be overwhelming. So, it's nice to dream of a far away place where homework doesn't exist. Unfortunately, we eventually have to face reality. Unless....
7. When you try to act cool.
Awkwardness runs through my blood, so any attempt to play it cool ends in MAJOR embarrassment. Luckily, most people are able to get past the awkward, and even find it "adorable".
8. Making plans to get out of going to class
"If you break my leg, then you can drive me to the hospital and we both get out of class." Yes, sometimes going to class does seem that dreadful. Though we would never actually go through with it, we can dream can't we?
9. When finals week hits.
Not only have you reached a state of delusion, but you will also do anything to avoid any more studying, including roll around on the ground.
