There comes a much dreaded time in every college students life that occurs twice a year. Yes, I'm talking about finals. For some students this is not huge stress that burdens them. The rest of us feel like we are on fire and everything around us is on fire.
All of this being said, I have prepared a list of way/things to help get you through the rest of the semester and finals. While I might not follow these to a T, I am hoping that this at least gives some guidance to a struggling student that does not know which was is up right now.
1. Avoid Procrastination
I do it. You do it. We all do it. I'm talking about procrastination. I am the worlds worst at procrastinating on absolutely everything. Even though it is hard to choose homework and studying over sleeping, the time has come to buckle down. Believe you me, that 300 point project has been staring me down since August and that due date is rapidly approaching.
2. Study in Advance
If you know that you are going to have an exam in your hardest class/ the one you're not doing too hot in, study for it a couple of weeks in advance. You can never be over prepared for a test. Most of your professors are more than willing to help you if you are having trouble understanding the material that has been gone over in class. There are also on campus tutors that are included in your Tuition and Fees that are at your disposal for help outside of the classroom.
3. Treat Yo Self
You deserve a study break every now and then. No I don't mean you read 1 page then take a four hour nap. While you need to make sure school is a priority, you should also take some time to have fun. Go for a hike, go shopping, go get your elbow bedazzled.
4. Visit Sleepytown
While you're studying don't stay up too late or your bed will get mad at you. Its important to stay hydrated to get enough sleep. While we can't take 6 hours naps every day it is still necessary to get some rest and take care of your body.
5. Kick Your Exams in the Butt
At this point you should be all rested up, hydrated, and learned in the classes you have finals in. So you'll get up, get dressed, and walk into that classroom and completely slay that exam. You'll be the first one done and it will not be because you don't know what it's talking about this time. (Side note, if you're Greek you know htat if your exam grade could make or break your grade in that class you are definitely high key stressed about making your required GPA.)
You now have the tools to have a successful rest of the semester and finals. Now you don't feel like you're on fire and everything around you is on fire. Well, actually you probably feel a little more like this,
Happy Finals!
