Every college student at some point has taken the L, and if they haven’t then they are lying. Taking the L, in case you don’t know, means taking the loss. Whether it means taking the loss with your test, relationships, or diet we have all done it at some point.
1) Even when you try not to, sometimes you just gotta take the L. That test you studied for hours to get a good grade on only to realize that it’s all on the material you haven’t studied for?
Acceptance is key to taking the L. You may not want to accept it, but once you do it will make life so much easier for you. Yes, you will feel bad about that grade, but once you accept it, you will feel so much better.
2) It may be hard to accept your first L, but after you do, it becomes so much easier. Taking L’s are apart of life, and instead of trying to resist it, we should all learn to embrace them. The best thing we can do is to not take everything so seriously. Yes, we can learn from our failures, that is true. But we can also learn from accepting them, rather than letting them get to us. By accepting your L, you are accepting yourself. Yes, you failed epically on that test. Accept it, embrace it. By embracing your L’s, you can hopefully one day turn that L into a W.
3 )This semester was full of L’s, and that is perfectly okay and normal. Not everything goes the way we want them to. But that doesn’t mean that they never will. Yes, it is okay to take L’s but not all the time. Yes, it is easy to accept your loss. But just because something is easy shouldn’t mean you should do it all the time.
If you want things to go your way, sometimes you have to make them. If you want something, fight for it, whether it’s a grade or a person. Taking the L is the easy way out. It’s okay to take every once in a while but not all the time. Learn from them and turn them into W’s instead.
4) Taking the W is much harder than taking the L. It’s easy to accept we failed that test. It’s even harder to not only accept it, but do something about it so that it doesn’t happen again. Accept the L, but don’t let it stop there.
Accept that you did bad, but embrace the fact that you can do something about it. Turn that L around and make it into a W. There is always a way to turn your loss into a win, even when there seems like there isn’t. So accept your L’s, but don’t settle for them.
