College is an amazing yet hella strange time for anyone involved. It's a bit hard to put into words exactly why college is more different than any other time in your life so here we will have the cast of the popular TV show "Teen Wolf" to help us out with their colorful facial expressions. If any of you watch the show, you should know that Stiles and Scott's facial expressions are to die for. So with that, I'm going to try and explain college in a nut shell. Here we go.
1. Oh my god, go to bed. It's 3 a.m.!
You are now living with another person and you are going to have different schedules and habits. It is an unavoidable fact that you will get on each others nerves every now and then with lights and music. Whether it be to turn down the music because of sleep or studying, it is going to happen. It's not the end of the world. You will still love each other in the end.
2. Professors adding on to the work load.
Professors have a tendency to believe that their class is your only class. This being said, anything that you don't accomplish in class, thanks to the kid who won't stop talking about everything and everything, you will get added to your outside class work to prepare for the next meeting time.
3. 8 a.m. classes.
Do I even need to elaborate on this one? You may think you can do an 8 a.m. You may think you can do a 9 a.m. Truthfully, you cannot even do a 10 a.m. most days. Sorry man.
4. What do you mean you ate already?
You're hungry as hell and have been waiting for your friend to text back because you made plans to meet for dinner. They finally get back to you and they say they already ate without you? The betrayal.
5. Bringing your "one more" friend home.
It's college and there are a lot of parties. Some friends get a little too into the party and it's whatever. You're their friend and you bring your intoxicated buddy home with you OK? It happens to all of us at least once.
7. Contemplating your "Plan B" career.
You may have just spent the last six days studying and are running on literally 20 minutes of sleep, but that doesn't matter. You studied hard and strong for days for this huge exam. You pushed and pushed for hours at a time to end up with a 67 percent. Yay! I'm flunking out... You're really not though.
8. Classroom placement blues.
You just finished class at 12 and your next class is at 12:15. No big deal...unless it just so happens that your class is on the exact other side of campus. In that case, it's time to get those legs on the move and sweat like you came from gym class instead of English class.
Of course, there are plenty of other college struggles as you see on social media but these are a few that seem pretty prevalent and widely known. College has its ups and its downs and it's one hell of a ride but, in the end, you're going to have the time of your life. Keep your chin up, and push through my friends!
