We all have the Pinterest boards of all of the different ideas of the perfect dorm room, but what we don't have is the perfect list of items you need to pack. So here it is...!

1. Alarm Clock

If you don't use your phone for this.

2. Area Rug

Especially if there are hardwood floors!

3. Backpack

School stuff, duh!

4. Backrest

Trust me, it is a life saver and a wonderful blessing!

5. Bathmat

Just make sure to wash this every now and again.

6. Bathrobe

Get that cute one you have had your eye on for a while. Guess, what you now have a reason to buy it, because you can't walk from the shower to your room naked anymore.

7. Bedside Storage/Caddy

This can come in handy if you are lazy and need a place to store your water bottle at night.

8. Bluetooth Speaker

This works great when you just wanna jam out with your roommate when you are both hanging out. There are also waterproof ones you can bring into the shower as well!

9. Body Pillow

You will want this and never regret it!

10. Book Light

If you read a lot, you should invest!

11. Broom and Dust Pan

Or a swifter sweeper

12. Bungee Chair

This is a cute addition to help when friends come over to hang at your place.

13. Calendar

Big wall calendars are amazing at reminding you when your mid term test is!

14. Camera

To take pictures of all of those memories! Brownie points if it is a Polaroid camera!

15. Closet Organizers

For all of those clothes you knew you shouldn't have brought.

16. Clothesline Picture Holder

That really cool clothesline DIY thing you saw on Pinterest and know you have to recreate!

17. Coffee Maker

Caffeine is life!!!

18. Comforter

Splurge on a nice one that will last you through college so you don't have to go out and buy a new one every year.

19. Command Hooks

These are great for hanging pictures, decorations, and even your shower towel.

20. Cooking Supplies

Pots, pans, plates, forks, spoons, etc...

21. Day Planner

To keep track of that busy college life!

22. Fan

Trust me! Don't hesitate to buy it, because it gets super hot at times!

23. First Aid Kit

Stock with different cold and allergy meds as well.

24. Folding Stool

If you are short like me, this will be a life saver!

25. Food Containers

Not to take food out of the food hall of course...

26. Hair Towel

This may not be for everyone, but it can definitely help.

27. Hanging Baskets

This makes for a cute storage spot for little things.

28. Hanging Shoe Rack

This can also work as a snack holder as well.

29. HDMI and Ethernet Cable

Some schools don't supply these types of things

30. Jewelry Organizer

In a small space, this really comes in handy.

31. Lap Desk

You do usually get a desk with your room provided, but sometimes your bed is just gonna be much comfier to binge watch Netflix with simultaneously doing your homework.

32. Mattress Topper

This makes the bed feel much softer (and your back not as mad at you).

33. Message Board

Chalkboard, dry erase board, cork board—you name it.

34. Ottoman

This can work as a chair and/or a storage unit.

35. Poster Putty

If your place won't allow tacks, then this works just as well.

36. Rain Boots and Coat

Walking to class will be your worst nightmare unless you invest!

37. Sewing Kit

You don't think this will come in handy until you need it and realize your mom isn't there to fix it.

38. Shower Shoes and Caddy

Those showers can be gross, and anything to save you from that is a blessing.

39. Stain Remover

Once again, mommy isn't there to fix it for you...

40. String Lights

This will look cute and work well with the clothesline picture holder

41. Trashcan

Don't forget this!

42. Water Pitcher

Please invest! The water may not be filtered, and bottled water is harder to walk back to your room from the store. (Plus tap water is free)

These are just a list of new things to buy. Don't forget to pack up all of the things you would use on a daily basis like clothes and deodorant.

PS: New school supplies and clothes wouldn't hurt.

Have fun packing! :)

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
