College, man.
Four years (or more) of crazy, fun, wild, sad, and happy memories. I'm only a sophomore but, oh baby, the memories that have already been made. Like most people, I had a huge preconception of what college is and what the experience should be like.
But from just a little over one year I have some specific and unique examples of what college actually is.
College is:
1. Secretly wanting to follow your mom out of Creswell Hall on move-in day because you thought you were ready, but really you're terrified to be on your own.
2. Going through recruitment and finding a group of girls who will be your lifelong friends.
3. Going to your first social dressed so wild that even you don't know what you were thinking, but laughing about it the next morning with your new friends.
4. Being so excited for your first sorority date night, having no idea what you're getting yourself into.
5. Football season.
5. Studying hours for that one test, only to get a 70 (if you're lucky).
6. Painting your first frat cooler thinking it is out of this world, only to look back on it later and wonder what went wrong! :,)
7. Going home for Thanksgiving and finding yourself counting the hours until your back in your new favorite city.
8. Truly understanding what the term "finals" means.
9. Being so excited to have made it through your first semester of college.
10. Realizing that you aren't as ready to be on your own as you thought, when you find yourself upset about going back for the spring semester.
11. A rollercoaster of emotions (obviously).
12. Getting back in the groove of things once the end of February roles around.
13. Darty season.
14. Trying to understand the way boys think.
15. College, man.
College is a term that can't have one specific meaning, because each person has a different experience and memories to share.
