Like any early 2000s girl, I was obsessed with Mary-Kate and Ashley movies. They were stylish, funny and everything I wanted to be. We got to see them do just about everything. So no matter what your major is, don't worry, there's an Olsen movie for you.
Warning: You may be suffering from the repercussions of a miserable childhood if you have not watched these movies listed below. Never fret, there is a cure, go to your local BlockBuster and rent them all. Or you know, hit me up, I have them on VCR.
1. When In Rome - Business/Management
In this 00's gem, Charli and Leila Hunter land dream internships for a fashion designer in Rome.
2. Holiday In The Sun - Pre-Law/Criminology
Madison and Alex Stewart were planning on just hanging with friends when their horrible father dragged them to the Bahamas instead. Yeah, I know, how awful. They met cute boys, went to the beach, got arrested, went to a party, got arrested, and then they turned it all around by solving an antique smuggling crime. If that sounds right up your alley, then Criminology/Pre-Law might be right for you.
3. New York Minute- Pre-Med/Music
Jane Ryan had a big future ahead of her, she was at the top of her class, and was entered in a contest to earn a position at an overseas college program. She was very determined to make her dreams come true. Sounds like a lot of pre-med students that I know. Her twin, Roxy, had
4. Winning London - Political Science
Chloe and Riley Lawrence take on the International Model United Nation competition in England. They represent their school by competing as representatives of the United Kingdom. They spend their free time studying and learning all that they can about the country that they happen to be visiting. That is until finally, they decide to ditch the books and let the country speak for itself. They got to learn hands-on about political policies across the world, and learn how nations can work together efficiently. Although these teens may not be able to negotiate with terrorists, they still have my vote.
5. It Takes Two - Psychology/Sociology
I mean this is a classic nature vs. nature lesson waiting to happen. Alyssa was raised by a father who loved her and loved spoiling her. Her twin, Amanda, was in and out of foster care all of her life, she did, however, have an awesome
6. Billboard Dad - Advertising/Marketing
Tess and Emily Tyler take on the challenge of putting their dad on the market. And how do they do that? Why advertising of course! They made things happen by putting their dad's face smack dab on a billboard. If this floats your boat, then check out these majors!
7. Getting There - Education
Kylie and Taylor Hunter hit the road in this classic as freshly licensed, 16 year-olds, driving across the country to go watch the Olympics. While they are technically licensed, they are still learning. Instead of being taught in a classroom, they let the world teach them a thing or two. The world is an awesome teacher, but we also need the
8. The Challenge - History
Shane and Elizabeth Dalton live on separate ends of the continent and couldn't be any more different. But they managed to put all of their history behind them to work together. At the end of this movie, Mary-Kate and Ashley fill us all with nostalgia by bringing ALL of their movie boyfriends back out! Talk about history....
9. Passport To Paris - Foreign Language
Melanie and Allyson Porter get to go casually visit their grandfather in Paris, who might I add
I've loved writing this piece and reliving my childhood as well as making my roommate, who had a pathetic excuse of a childhood, watch all of these for the first time. And hey, who knows... Maybe someday I'll get to add to this, you know, as soon as Mary-Kate and Ashley decide that they are ready for their next adventure.
