20 Times The Office Summed Up College

We all know that The Office is full of your run of the mill awkward situations- and then some. Coincidentally, so is college.

As we transition into adulthood, alongside many of our new friends, we're faced with situations where we can't help but stand back and laugh to ourselves. Whether it's the kid in math class who hasn't quite mastered how to whisper, or the things you spot on your late-night Friday journey to Sheetz, life is a funny thing. Especially in college!

1. Being so overwhelmed with school you lose track of current events and nearly sever all connections with outside life.

2. When the PRT is down and there are a million people trying to catch the bus at once.

3. When your professor has random attendance checks to see who shows up to use their own clicker and who sends them with their friends.

4. Trying to manage school, work, family, your social life, and keep your priorities straight.

5. Freshman year floor meetings in a nutshell.

6. Re-watching your Snapchat story and deleting everything because...

7. When you study for three days straight and the first question of the exam looks like a foreign language.

8. Contemplating what it would be like if you dropped out (for the third time today).

9. When the random loud kid in class decides to "whisper" everything that they did the night before to their friend and you're forced to sit there and listen to them.

10. When you stroll into your professor's office hours midway through the semester looking for help.

11. Waiting two weeks for your exam grades to be posted.

12. When a million student orgs crowd together in the Lair at the beginning of the semester trying to recruit you.

13. When you try to get a cute group pic with your friends but everything goes wrong.

14. Returning home for break and having your family ask you if you're seeing anyone.

15. When your professor doesn't use PowerPoints or put the notes online, so you literally write down EVERYTHING.

16. Getting ready to go out on Friday night.

17. ... and then getting the text from your friends that they "have too much homework to do" and won't be joining you.

18. ...and then finding out what they really did when you check in with them on Monday morning.

19. When your friend group and your roommates' friend groups start to merge.

20. When you slowly begin to realize you won't be in college forever.

You're right Andy, these really are the good old days.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
